Finally and sadly, the end of free electricity for many NSW householders has arrived. Should we panic? Go for more solar panels and any battery storage system just to keep receiving ‘free’ solar energy?
We think not! It’s time to evaluate your options with care, and the best option will be different for different households. It depends on what we call your personal “Load Profile”.
A household with a high degree of evening power use will have different requirements from a household where the load is spread out evenly over 24 hours. We suggest to get professional advice, maybe even have power monitoring done if the billing data is non-conclusive. The small cost for that is easily outweighed by the potential cost savings for getting the system right!
And, be aware that some “Fly-by-nighters” are trying to take advantage of the general confusion by selling outdated technology, unproven brands or a combination of both. Use your common sense and check the background of any business you want to deal with before signing a contract. Be particularly cautious of heavily advertised products – good products and good installers work on word-of mouth. This is particularly true in times of high demand for particular products / solutions such as solar power and batteries.
If in doubt, call us on 0415 875 672 or email us on info@goodbyegrid.com.au. For a small fee of $300 Michael will assess your power bills, make recommendations for a solar / battery system (either Hybrid or stand-alone) and prepare a personal checklist with questions you can take to potential suppliers of technology.
