THE NEXT STEP

Enter the age of independent energy systems

Batteries have been associated with high costs, high maintenance and cumbersome handling.

All of this is no longer true. Batteries today are much more affordable, maintenance free, last for many years and are hassle free due to smart controls systems.

HYBRID SOLAR systems and GRID-INDEPENDENT PV solar installations provide a range of renewable energy solutions for those who want to escape the stranglehold of the utilities.

HYBRID SOLAR aims at reducing demand at high-cost times by storing cheaply produced energy in batteries and releasing the energy stored at times when grid power is expensive. It can also be used for reducing demand peaks (and the associated peak demand charges) during hours of non-solar production: mornings and evenings /nights.

GRID INDEPENDENT systems store excess energy during sunshine hours and release them when required during non-sunshine hours. Depending on the capacity of the batteries, energy for one night or several days can be stored. Over-sized solar power arrays help to charge the batteries in overcast or rainy conditions. In some cases, a backup generator set may be used. These type of systems benefit greatly from any form of renewable energy that can be added to the mix: Pumped hydro, biogas, wind turbines, running water turbines etc.

In addition, MICRO GRIDS bundle a range of renewable energy sources, such as wind, solar, bio energy or hydro power, to provide a stream of uninterrupted power with some battery storage for peak demand levelling. A Micro Grid can extend to a neighbourhood, a village, an industrial estate or a community.
Community owned solar farms can be part of a microgrid. This is happening in selected locations around Australia at the moment.

GOODBYE GRID is here to assist businesses and residential householders in cutting energy costs NOW and into the future, without wasting money for technology that may be redundant in just a few years.

We’ve developed a roadmap based on today’s technology and tomorrow’s possibilities – a roadmap that incorporates 4 basic principles:

  1.   Understand your daily and seasonal load profiles
  2.   REDUCE energy consumption now.
  3.   Replace daytime power consumption with solar energy
  4.   Use storage technologies to match renewable energy generation to your load profile
Say goodbye to the grid...
