Lismore launched the largest Floating Solar installation in February 2018. At 100kW it is not only the largest in Australia (there are only 2, so far!), but it is also community owned. We were actively involved in making it happen, because we lismore-floating-solar-1believe that many water bodies lend themselves to hosting large solar panel arrays: Think of sewage treatment plants, drinking water reservoirs, farm dams, estuaries…. As in the case of Lismore where it sits on the overflow pond of and sewage treatment plant, the consumer of large chunks of power is very close to the source. The same would apply to drinking water reservoirs and the associate pump stations. Or farm dams on, for example, dairy farms.
